What 55,000 designers actually use.
Jun 30, 2026 · 3 min read
55Kdesigners on the libraryWe run UI Wiki, a Figma component library, alongside the studio. 55,000 designers use it, around 14,000 in any given week. That makes it a quiet, honest poll on what actually helps people ship interfaces. This report is what the usage keeps telling us.

The screens people reach for

Detail study
BubbliWe expected the showpieces to lead: splashy heroes, animated cards, the stuff that does well on social. Instead, the files that keep getting pulled are the unglamorous ones. The ranking below is ordered, not scored. We don't publish per-file counts.
- 01Settings pagesthe screen nobody enjoys inventing
- 02Empty statesfirst impressions, zero data
- 03Login flowsfamiliar beats clever
- 04Tablesreal data is the hard part
- 05Error screensdesigned by almost nobody

Applause rewards novelty. Real products reward clarity.
What it changes
The components that collect likes and the components that end up inside real files are two almost entirely different lists. Usage rewards clarity, familiarity, and handled edge cases. It changed how we design for clients: we spend the taste budget on hierarchy, spacing, and the one moment worth remembering, and we make the rest boring on purpose.
Takeaways
- The boring screens get copied. Help people with screen forty-three, not screen one.
- Patterns survive, styles rotate. Respect what users already know.
- Applause and usefulness are different metrics. Design for the second one.
The library lives at uiwiki.co if you want to check our homework. The studio applies the lessons weekly.
